Given the association with Anthony, I suspect you have an image of
Macarios, a desert saint who could be shown covered with stylized palms.
The more common palm garment is a crosshatched, woven affair, but what look
like leaves could be used. See, for example, the San Marco north transept
image of Macarios that is fig. 58 in Otto Demus, _The Mosaic Decoration of
San Marco Venice_ (1988). Other desert ascetics might also be possible.
