A slightly tongue-in-cheek suggestion: The surname Fripp comes from the French for "dealer in rags". Could the place-name Ste-Fripette be derived from the site of a rag-well ? %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
