Introduction to management skills
4 & 5 May, Edinburgh
A two day practical introduction to the main areas of management relevant to
library and information work.
How will this event help you?
It will help you:
* build on your strengths and understand your weak points as a manager
* raise your awareness of your and others' behaviour to improve
communication in management
* help you enhance your practical management skills - from team
building, leadership, assertiveness, time management and more
* share experiences and ideas with others at a similar level in
management.
All sessions require a high level of involvement and participation and
learning is by observation and reflection. You will be asked to complete a
questionnaire prior to attending to use during the workshop.
Who should attend?
You will benefit most if you have at least 3 years post-qualifying
experience. You should be able to contribute to group exercises and
discussions from that experience
Comments from previous participants

"I found this a rich learning experience"
"enjoyable participation in a relaxed atmosphere"
