According to both liturgical lessons and passional legends, Garganus was not the herdsman, but a landowner, the owner of the herd. This only in passing.
Concerning miracles of St. Michael, I know only the high and late medieval texts of legends and preachings, but there is no part "miracula". I think, there are goos grounds for this absence of miracles: Michael is the saint - angel, not a saint - man. As such, Michael make connection between two worlds through his inspirations (inspirationes angelicae), not through some wonderful deeds (mirabilia, miracula) or pattern deeds (exempla). And second, during the middle ages, the cult and veneration went from the individual angels (Michael, Gabriel etc.) to the more vague guardian angel (angelus custos), so the evolution worked against miracles, too.
