Dear List
I am seeking to establish the extent of the obligation on late Medieval
Norman parishioners to provide a parsonage.
C. Routier, _Pratiques Bénéficiales_ (Rouen, 1745), p. 218 says that one
Chopin, in his _Monasticon_, writes that the obligation is absolute.
I cannot find this Chopin: does anyone know of the work, please? Even a
date would be most helpful. Other thoughts are as welcome as ever.
Many thanks
Darryl
PS It's not in the BL or at Caen University Library, and the BNF search
facility just makes my machine crash ...
