There is also at least one image of Mary weaving in stained glass,
a panel formerly in the Carmelite monastery in Nuremberg, and now in
the parish church of Grossgrundlach, designed by Hans Baldung Grien
and glazed by the Veit Hirsvogel workshop in c. 1505. See Ruediger
Becksmann, ed., Deutsche Glasmalerei des Mittelalters.
Voraussetzungen, Entwicklungen, Zusammenhaenge (Berlin, 1995), cat.
no. 74, with a colour plate on p. 245; as Sarah Randles has observed
for other such images, the upright loom is very narrow, and She
appears to be weaving a narrow zig-zag band.
Cheers,
Jim Bugslag
