Dear Colleagues,
We would be interested in finding out various departments' policies
regarding the new German spelling and would be very grateful for answers to
the following questions:
1. Have you already instituted the new spelling at your deparment? If not,
are you planning to do so in the near future?
2. Would you be prepared to allow both old and new spellings/punctuation in
one and the same piece of work, or do you insist on consistency within the
piece? If so, how do you regulate this?
3. Do you have introductory seminars to familiarize students with the new
rules?
4. Is there a common or known policy from the schools' examining boards?
5. Do you know of any common practice at German-speaking universities,
especially in Germanistik and DaF departments?
