FURTHER PARTICULARS
Applications are invited for research fellows at the NHS Centre for
Reviews and Dissemination (CRD). The postholders will contribute to an
online Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness (DARE) produced
by CRD. People with experience in critical appraisal skills are
preferred, though relevant training will be provided if necessary. The
successful applicant is likely to have good quantitative skills,
preferably with a background (MSc) in medical statistics, epidemiology,
or other evaluative branches of health services research.
DARE is a database of abstracts of quality assessed systematic reviews
for which CRD researchers produce detailed structured abstracts
describing the methodology, results and conclusions. They also comments
on the overall quality of the reviews and their implications for the
health service.
CRD comprises around 40 research, information and support staff.
