I know, I should get working . . . . .
One question that is currently exercising us here is the difficult
question of 'to Web Unit or not'. The 12 month projectly we recently
went live with combined an external agency, two internal computing type
services, an internal design studio and contributions from PR and
marketing. In many ways it was a surprisingly model project, but the
glue that tied it together was the momentum of the project.
Now in stable, or incremenetal change that momentum has lessened and we
ahve to rely on 'traditional' university processes. We are reluctant to
create another Unit that may be seen as competition to other units - but
being pragmatic, even in this renaissance age, a Web Unit beholden to no
traditional 'service' has it's attractions.
Does anybody have REAL experience of setting up such a Unit within a
University of a fairly developed nature (ie including Ac Related Grades
from say grade 5 down to grades 1/2) - a unit that could handle most web
(ie PR/Design/programming) tasks, but would work with other internal
units.
Again, if you have experience could you e-mail me, or even ring?
