Hi
Just an observation - it's interesting to look at the websites of all
who have contributed to this discussion so far . . .
One fear that struck me about six months ago was what if I am an expert
at describing the problems of managing/building/creating/developing an
institutional website - what if I'm better at that than actually
producing the damn thing??
I don't really believe that (I think) - but the end result is a
combination of many people/talents and within HE it is difficult for
that end product to reflect the expertise that has gone into it.
I don't think I'm asking for feedback on the OU's site, but if you look
at it you will see we are trying to do something different here - and
that does lead me to another point Brian may like to think about. both
myself, and the Project Manager for the new Open University Business
School site(http://oubs.open.ac.uk/) have felt very 'exposed', possibly
even isolated within the institution. After all, everyone can build a
website can't they? if you do look at the OU site, I would appreciate
any feedback direct to me.
Thanks
Ian
