Dear Len
We seem to be having this conversation in public and it's amusing some
people, so I'm carrying on with an open reply.
> I'm sorry that you feel that I am being discourteous. I'm not sure why

Ken Bromfield expressed my concern much better than I did (thanks, Ken).
I quite like a fight myself, but am concerned that list members might be
put off asking for help if they feel that this invites a critique of their
ideology, methodology or any other ology. I have often asked for, and
got, lots of advice, ideas, information and support from the network
(including yourself), I value this facility enormously, and I think it's
important that people should feel OK about seeking to benefit from
collegiality in this way.

Thanks for doing so. I'm sure that will have been constructive for those
following the direction of the original enquiry.

Yes, clearly. I don't call what I do 'teaching'for a start. There are
many mansions in staff development. And it's payday today, so I'm feeling
fairly comfortable about doing what the organisation has contracted me to
do.....

Tee hee!

Can I point out that it wasn't me who originally asked for ideas on this
one? And I'm in two minds whether to thank you for your generous offer
or relapse into paranoia and tell you not to patronise me. I'm not
*trying* to do it, I've *done* it, actually.
'Nuff said.
Best wishes
