Last month I joined the simsoc mailing list and found your questionaire
about teaching
simulation.
I am afraid it is too late to answer your questionaire, but I would like to
send the
information about the present situation of teaching simulation in our
department.
I am an associate professor of regional planning at the department of
industrial
administration, faculty of science and engineering, Science university of
Tokyo.
In our department, researchers are interested in and studying the following
themes;
management science, operational research, production engineering, quality
managemant,
artficial intelligence, environmental managemant, public service managent
and planning.
There I delivers a lecture on simulation modelling for public planning.
The class is postgraduate. 20-30 students. 90 minutes * 12 times.(from
April to July)
Tje contents are reginal system dynamics model, land-use and transport
model, cellular
automata applied to urban landuse model, and multi agent model and gaming
simulation.
I fear my explanation is not understandable. If anything to be added,
please ask me!
Yours Sincerely.
