==========================================================================
1. Lectureship in Astrophysics (Ref: 99/P133C)
----------------------------------------------
Required to carry out research in the Astrophysics and Planetary Science
Research Division and to complement the current research programmes in
observational astrophysics. These include multi-wavelength studies of
stars (including the Sun), interstellar and nebular gas physics, and
solar system objects (comets and asteroids).
The lecturer will carry out physics and astrophysics teaching duties
in the Pure and Applied Physics Teaching Division.

2. Lectureship in Condensed Matter Physics (Ref: 99/P134C)
----------------------------------------------------------
Required to carry out teaching within the Pure and Applied Physics
Teaching Division and to establish research activities within the
Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science Division.
Informal enquiries: [log in to unmask]
3. Lectureship in Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (Ref: 99/P135)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Required to carry out research in the area of atomic, molecular and
optical physics and to participate in all aspects of physics
teaching and examining.
Informal enquiries: [log in to unmask]
4. Lectureship in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (Ref:
99/136C)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Required to lecture in applied mathematics and theoretical physics and to
carry out and publish original research on theoretical and computational
investigations of atoms, molecules or clusters exposed to intense laser
fields.

5. Lectureship in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (Ref:
99/137C)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Required to lecture in applied mathematics and theoretical physics and to
carry out and publish original research in Quantum Optics in the
Theoretical and Computational Physics Research Division.

6. Lectureship in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (Ref:
99/P138C)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Required to lecture in applied mathematics and theoretical physics and to
carry out and publish original research in the Theoretical and
Computational Physics Research Division and to publish in theoretical
atomic and molecular physics. A proven interest in atomic collision theory
(light or heavy particle impact) and /or the theory of the structure of
and transitions in atoms, molecules and/or clusters and/or the theory of
ferromagnetism and/or the theory of ultra-cold atoms and Bose-Einstein
condensation is particularly welcome, in view of the current expertise in
the Division. Candidates in multiphoton processes (including strong laser
field interactions) and in quantum optics will not be considered for this
particular post.

7. Lectureship in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (Ref:
99/P139C)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Required to lecture in applied mathematics and theoretical physics and to
carry out original research and to publish in the theory of light-particle
atom/ion/molecule/surface collisions.
