Joint France-QuÉbec Studies: Graduate Assistantship available immediately in
Theoretical and Experimental Physical Chemistry. The successful candidate will
be part of an international research program focusing on the behavior and
reactivity of clusters at surfaces and involving a close collaboration between
theoretical and experimental research groups. He/she will conduct theoretical
research primarily in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at
Concordia
University (Montréal, Canada) with Prof. Gilles H. Peslherbe and will
periodically spend some time primarily conducting experiments in the
Laboratoire d’Optique Quantique du Centre National de la Recherche
Scientifique
at Ecole Polytechnique (Palaiseau, France) with Dr. Holger Vach. Some teaching
may be required as part of the Graduate Program. The assistantship covers
salary for a period of 4 years and airfare between France and Canada once a
year. Applicants must be able to communicate in English and in French, and
preference will be given to citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
