I am currently in the process of building a nanosecond transient
absorption spectrometer and am trying to get information on how to build a
pulsed current power supply which would work in parallel with the lamp
housing and power supply that I have available to me.
I have a model 66002 Oriel lamp housing (which will house either 75 W or
150 W Xe arc lamps) and a model 68700 Oriel power supply to ignite and run
the simmer current for the lamp.
I would like to get pulses of light that are at least on the order of a
hundred microseconds, if not a millisecond, long. If anyone has built
such a power supply, especially in conjunction with an Oriel housing and
power supply, I would greatly appreciate any guidance and specifics that
you could offer.
Thanks in advance,
Valerie
