THE VIIIth INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
LASER APPLICATIONS IN LIFE SCIENCES (LALS-2000)
August 13-18, 2000
Tokyo, JAPAN
FIRST CIRCULAR
==============
The VIIIth International Conference on Laser Applications
in Life Sciences (LALS-2000) will be held on August 13-18,
2000 in Tokyo at Waseda University.
The conference will be dedicated to the late Professor
Nikolai I. Koroteev of Moscow State University, an outstanding
physicist in the field of nonlinear optics, in particular,
coherent Raman spectroscopy and its biomedical applications.
He was a driving force of the series of LALS conferences that
provided between scientists from the East and West a common
forum for exchanging ideas and finding collaborations. The
International Advisory Board of this Conference expresses on
this occasion its sincere thanks to Nikolai for his great
contributions.
Previous LALS conferences have been held at Prague, Czechoslovakia
(1986); Pecs, Hungary (1988); Moscow, Russia (1990); Jyvaskyla,
Finland (1992); Minsk, Belarus (1994); Jena, Germany (1996),
and Bratislava, Slovakia (1998).
PROGRAM THEMES
