One of the most useful sources of information I use for my research is
Annual Reports of the various listed companies - as far as I know the only
UK set is held by the Guildhall Library in London, as I think I've mentioned
before. Skinner's annual directories also gave a reasonable summary as did
the Mining Journal. Does anyone know if the French have (had) a similar
system? The reason for my interest is that in the Colonial era, Paris was
much more important than now for raising mining finance and many UK
companies also had a Paris listing (a few still do - Zambia Consolidated
Copper Mines being the most obvious).
In essence, is there a French equivalent of the Guildhall set of bound
volumes of Annual Reports and what is the access procedure? Failing that,
was there a French equivalent of Skinner?
Regards to all,
Martin Potts
