Hi Group
During the existence of British Coal, there were different coloured
bezels on the caplamps of miners. To my knowledge these were :-
BLACK / WHITE / RED / BLUE / GREEN / YELLOW
I believe the colour represented different jobs, etc. I further believe
that Black was for ordinary colliers, White might have been for
management and Green was for rescue teams. Can anyone identify what the
various colours were for and if there were any more?
