I am looking for recent, good quality research into the use of lavender (and
other aromatherapy oils) during labour. I've searched in the usual places -
MIRIAD and NRR etc - but haven't found much.
I know that the maternity unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital in London uses
lavender during labour. I found brief details of a study based there on
MIRIAD - completed 1992 or thereabouts. This study was (according to MIRIAD)
not published. However, I have a feeling that they have conducted more
research since (I seem to recall a snippet in the Nursing Times...).
Does anybody know -
If the 1992 study was published and where?
About more recent research at the JR - or elsewhere?
The name of anybody at the JR whom I can contact to talk more about their
use of lavender?
Other units/midwives offering aromatherapy during labour?
TIA
All good wishes
