Additional option for new subscribers to CAB Abstracts
======================================================
CAB Abstracts indexes the significant research and development
literature in the fields of agriculture, forestry, aspects of human
health, human nutrition, animal health and the management and
conservation of natural resources.
The EDINA CAB Abstracts service has been available to UK Higher
Education since January 1999; this is thanks to an agreement between
EDINA, Ovid and CAB International, with an agreement period until 31
December 2001 in the first instance. Subscribing institutions take
advantage of the very favourable subscription rates by committing until
the end of the current agreement period.
We are pleased to say that we have been able to negotiate an additional
option for new subscribers: sites which are unable to enter a
commitment for more than one year may now obtain a 12 month licence,
starting at any time. There is a slight premium on the fee for a 12 month
no-commitment licence, but we believe it is still a great deal. As with
standard licences, there are two pricing tiers, depending on size and
subject focus of the institution. The new option does not affect
existing subscriptions.
New 12 Month Licence Fee
------------------------
Agricultural college or institution with agricultural faculty
(8 concurrent users) stlg 5,100
Other higher education institutions
(4 concurrent users): stlg 3,100
The 12 Month Licence Fee is subject to review at the end of 2000.
Standard Licence fee (commitment until 31 December 2001)
--------------------------------------------------------
Agricultural college or institution with agricultural faculty
(8 concurrent users): stlg 4,600
Other higher education institutions
(4 concurrent users): stlg 2,600
Recently implemented features include an auto-alert (SDI) service,
a session recovery function and more flexible access options.
We plan to introduce further new features in the coming year.
