For various reasons, we do not wish to send a particular set of catalogue
cards off-site for retroconversion.
We know that some agencies can arrange to scan cards on-site. However, at
the moment we are considering sending our cards to be scanned off-site,
prior to retroconversion.
Has anyone tried this, and would they be willing to share their experiences
with us?
Amongst other things, we are looking at the relative merits of sending the
whole card catalogue, as against sending only the cards that need to be
converted. We are also concerned that the cards are returned in the correct
order, and the length of time it will take to complete the process.
I would be grateful if you could respond to me directly, and I will
summarise for the list, if there is any general interest in the matter.
Many thanks,
Margaret Blackburn
