In my frequent wanderings through the early professional literature (1897-1918),
I keep coming across references to meetings of the Society of Public Librarians.
Does anyone know more about this organisation? Has anyone written anything
about it, and does any relevant archive material still exist? I have looked
through the _British Library History_ bibliography in vain, and although
Cannons _Bibliography_ indexes their meetings, he has no entries for items
about the Society.
Yours in grateful anticipation
