Thanks for sending this to the list. Much of it sounds reassuringly (and
disappointingly!) familiar though one or two things you mention might be
due to your local circ parameter settings or ILL implementation. I will
contact you separately on these.
I'm wondering if it might be time for another coordinated enhancement list
from the EIUG. At the Cambridge meeting Leslie Straus from Innovative
said that a prioritised list would be useful.
Following an ILL presentation (also by Essex) at the 1996 EIUG meeting an
informal meeting was held in Hull and as a result an enhancement list from
the EIUG was compiled. Many of the enhancement requests from that list
have been implemented but the ARTEmail interface still lacks a number of
basic functionalities to make the product suitable for prime time in many
libraries.
Do others think a combined, prioritised enhancement list would be useful?
If so, is there a need for another ILL meeting or should we do it all via
email? In 1996 only three UK sites had the ILL module installed. There
are more sites with the module now, but not every site has started using
it yet. Will a brief presentation of how other sites are using the module
be helpful? From past experience I believe that detailed discussion on
the actual enhancement suggestions would be best conducted off this email
discussion list.
I'd be interested to hear other users' views.
