Hello int-bounders,
I am currently compiling information on the influence of maritime
boundaries and limits to marine mining activities. The topic will
address constraints and requirements for marine mining under the UNCLOS,
including aspects of extended continental shelves (under Article 76
guidelines) and the role of the International Seabed Authority in
activities in The Area. Especially sought are case histories and other
accounts of actual situations in which maritime boundaries have figured
in planning operations or in decisions regarding mineral recovery. The
topic excludes oil and gas but does include methane hydrates
(clathrates). Reference to published accounts are decidedly welcomed,
as are reprints or other text materials.
Many thanks for any information you can share.
