The RAS is seeking nominations for the 2000 Society awards. Please could you
and your colleagues consider putting forward nominations for the 2000
Society awards? It is an area in which support in finding more candidates
for consideration by the Awards Committees would be very much appreciated.
The awards in 2000, relevant to the geophysics area, are for
* a GOLD Medal in geophysics,
* the Price medal for a specific investigation of outstanding merit in the
field of geomagnetism and aeronomy,
* the Harold Jeffreys Lectureship in geophysics and planetary science,
* nominations for Society Associates.
More details are available on the Society's web pages at
http://www.ras.org.uk/ras/nominate.htm and a nomination form is available at
http://www.ras.org.uk/ras/nomform2.htm.
To ensure consideration for the 2000 round, nominations should be received
at Burlington House by 30th October 1999. If you have any queries, please
contact John Lane at Burlington House ([log in to unmask]) or myself.
