Hi Andrea,
>I'm also a new member and am not quite sure how this mailing list proceeds.
Firstly can I ask you if you have something about film-philosophy (as a
subject not a listserve) that you would like to discus? If you have then you
can post your query onto this list and the members usually attempt to either
answer it or discus it with you.
> So far, it seems to be imbued with personal greetings and welcomings,
That's only because of the time of year.... it's summer and a lot of
educational institutions are closed for the summer... lots of list members
are knee deep in work to mark.... and not all academics have access to their
mail when they are away for the summer.... so it does get quiet this time of
the year. The personal greetings are not normally something that is
associated with this list however this case was an exception. If it prompted
you to send your message then it just shows that even personal messages have
their positive uses. ;-)
> but where does the content come in? When and where do the discussions
take place? Will the conversations be sent to me or will I have to go to
the film-philosophy web address?
You send your comments into this address. However most members are happy for
you to email them directly if it is something that you feel that only one
specific member of the list can help you with.
> Unfortunately, I didn't find the introductory site email to be clear
enough; yet I'm >eager to partake in the forums.
Then start a thread..... create your own forum....send in a query and see
what happens ;-))
good luck,
Julia
