Introductions are almost as hard as conclusions. It feels odd to just say
'Hi, my name is...', but I'm not sure what other manner of introduction I
could use. Whenever I write something, I just get on with it. Which seems
out of place here. In stories, it's always nicer to come into something,
to enter into an event. Which, I suppose, is precisely what I'm doing,
since I'm a new member. I suppose that would make for an interesting,
interactive audience feeling - the play starting when the audience arrives,
yet having gone on for a long while.
Well, I suppose you should all know my name (Jason), a little bit about
myself. I'm currently getting pieces together to enter university, an
program in image arts, hopefully, something to further myself as a
storyteller. I want to learn as much as I can about society and
philosophy, but have a very difficult time adhering to structures of order
within society. I read a lot (mostly the first ten pages of a book, before
being distracted, and finding another book), and have become very
interested in film in the past year, searching out cinema off the beaten
track. Before, and still, I focussed on comic books, a highly under-rated
medium, and one which can serve as an incredible art form, in a few ways
that cinema can't.
I hope that this list will allow me to learn more about the more
progressive side of the media.
