Spackman & Hendrickson, Inc. announces the availability of SHAPE95, a
comprehensive set of Fortran 95 compiler conformance tests.
There are over 7500 individual, executable, self-checking, test
subroutines. Each subroutine tests a particular aspect of compiler
conformance to the Fortran 95 standard.
The test suite is platform and OS independent and is bootstrapable from
a Fortran 90 compiler. Maintenance tools are provided to remove tests
for unimplemented features or partition the tests into operationally
convenient groups.
The suite tests all of the computational aspects of Fortran, all of the
intrinsic procedures except SYSTEM_CLOCK, and almost all of the Fortran
statements. There are over 2900 intrinsic function tests. The tests
cover end cases such as zero-sized arrays or masks that are all true or
all false, as well as a wide range of normal values. They use all of the
Fortran data types, including sequence and non-sequence derived types.
Variables, arrays, and constants are all declared with kind-type
parameters, allowing for easy checking of non-default kinds. The suite
features haphazard and undisciplined use of 24 different modules.
Upgrades are available for current users of SHAPE. Site and distributed
licenses are available for new customers. Maintenance for the rest of
1999 is included with the license. Installation and training are also
available.
