Summit 2000 - Children, Youth and The Media - an international conference
will take place in Toronto - May 13-17, 2000.
The simple purpose of Summit 2000 is to bring together some 1,600 people
from around the world who make media programs for children and youth with
those people who teach the young about it through media education. This
will be the first time that the two groups have the opportunity to meet and
talk and plan ways of working together.
We have developed three pillars - one on the media themselves (about 80
presentations), one on media education (about 120 presentations), and an
academic one (about 70 papers) that bridges the other two - which
intermingle throughout the Summit. Participants at the Summit will be able
to attend any of the presentations.
As of today, you can find on the Summit 2000 web site the daily schedule
for the Media Education Pillar presentations - complete with abstracts and
brief write ups on the presenters.
Within two weeks, the daily schedule for the Academic Pillar complete with
abstracts of the papers and write ups on the presenters will be posted.
And within the month, the daily schedule for the Media Pillar will be posted.

As changes occur we will post them. The presentations will be given in the
language in which they are written.
If you wish to receive the registration booklet when it comes out in early
