--wrote masthead. Hallelujah! Best phrase I've read in a long time.
Suddenly, I didnt feel so lonely. Altho, having written that, I'd add that
the option is an unfolding disaster of unconsciousness. What a choice! Pass
that bottle. . .
As to a poetry gene : I dont think so. Although there appears to be an
actor's gene.....many offspring of actors/showbiz folk also take to the
stage, succesfully. Sure, friends of their parents make an entree. But
nonetheless....Whereas in poetry, do we have anything to match the Redgrave
family ?
I liked the boy's poem. The quick switches of attention were what I liked
best. Having a lively grandmother-poet surely helps the lad tend that way.
The decision (though it seldom feels like one) to be a poet, self-declared,
comes a bit later, doesnt it? and is not only a matter of talent (or even,
sadly, its absence). And in this pass, it would seem that having a parent
(I do not say : grandparent) who is a poet, is more likely to discourage
one from so choosing. You may speculate as to why : I could not possibly
comment.
