MAD2 includes leases as a term to describe the diplomatic content of title
deeds (page 179) , so perhaps by implication expects them to be catalogued
as title deeds. I THINK Kevin Ward has published something on cataloguing
of title deeds (more recently I believe than his pieces in JSA 1995, but I
can't trace it at present) - Kevin, if you are out there can you provide
details?
We thought about this issue when I was at Hertfordshire, but can't remember
the conclusion we came to - can any former colleagues at Herts help?

I'd be interested to hear any responses as well. As far as I have been able
to find out (with asistance, gratefully acknowledged, of list members) there
seems to be no nationally accepted list or thesaurus of archive 'type' terms
covering this sort of issue. Many use the AAT from the Getty, but most with
their own additions and corrections, which, though locally valid, presents a
problem for any sort of national searching.
