OMARKET DIVISION
The Labour Market Division of the Office for National Statistics is
responsible for providing labour market statistics and analysis to a wide
variety of customers. To meet the needs of these customers, we are
developing a range of new products which demand innovative methodological
support. We are looking for at least three methodologists, to contribute to
this work. All the posts will be stimulating and challenging, working in a
high-profile environment with considerable personal responsibility. All
posts are in London.
For all the posts you will need:
· good numerical and statistical skills, (including at least a 2.1
degree with a substantial element of statistics), and the ability to apply
them to real data;
· strong methodological and research skills and experience;
· good analytical skills, and a creative approach to problem-solving;
· good IT skills, including the ability to use a range of statistics
packages;
· organisational and project management skills.
We are looking for people with extensive experience in developing and
applying statistical methodology, for appointment at the C4 pay band, with
salary range £23703 to £34649. For some of the posts we may consider
candidates with good skills and relevant but less extensive experience for
appointment at lower levels of the C pay band (C1 is £17,754 ? £25,500; C2
is £19,320 ? £28,844; C3 is £23,703 ? £30,784). The starting salary on
appointment is generally at the minimum of the appropriate payband,
however, higher starting pay may be offered depending on relevant
qualifications and experience.
