Research Fellow in Bioepidemiology
Cancer Rearch Campaign Paediatric & Familial Cancer Research Group
Apllications are invited for this post based at the Royal Manchester
Children's Hospital. The CRC Paediatric & Familial Cancer Research
Group is concerned with studies of the aetiology of cancer in
children. A particular emphasis of the research is the investigation
of genetic predisposition and genetic environment interactions.
Molecular epidemiology will play an increasingly prominent role in
our research programme and the work is closely integrated with
research in molecular genetics of paediatric tumours. The post will
be in epidemiological research and applicants should be graduates
with a higher degree in biomedical sciences, epidemiology or related
subjects. The successful applicant will have a proven record of
original research with substantial publications in peer review
journals. The appointee will be expected to take responsibility for a
specified area of the group's research programme and experience of
working in a research team is desirable. The appointment will be for
a fixed term from 1st October 1999 to 30th September 2002 in the
first instance. Salary will be paid according to the University R&A
scale to a current maximum of 29,048 pounds per annum. Further
