STATISTICIAN
A junior statistician is required for a joint post in the Biostatistics and
Computing Department of the Institute of Psychiatry, and the Royal College
of Psychiatrists
Research Unit. The person appointed would have particular responsibility for
giving statistical advice to post-graduate students at the Institute, and
at the
College would give such advice to a number of researchers and would be
actively
involved in analysing research data. The appointment is to be made on the
'Other Related Grade I/II' post, salary between £17,869 and £25,785 including
London allowance. Applicants should have a strong statistical education and
experience of one of the major statistical software packages. Applications
from newly qualified MSc students whose course contains a substantial
statistical
component would be particularly welcome, but consideration will also be given
to applicants with only a first degree in mathematics or a related subject.
The appointment is funded for two years in the first instance but there
is a strong possibility that this could be extended.
Applications in the form of a CV, including the names of two referees,
should be sent to
the Personnel Officer
Institute of Psychiatry
De Crespigny Park
London SE5 8AF
from whom further written details are available (or e-mail
[log in to unmask]).
Please quote ref.no. 99/A11. The deadline for applications is the 4th of
June 1999.
