Dear collegue,
We were somewhat mystified by the following policlinical patient,
a 28 year young man, referred by his GP for low total calcium and
disturbances of heart rhythm.
Results were:
Date 29/1 31/1 1/2 18/3
Tot.Ca 2.12 2.29 2.18 2.34 (2.20-2.65)
Albumin 41 43 (31-43)
Ca2+ 1.25 (1.1-1.3)
Phosphate 1.46 (0.7-1.5)
Kreat 63
Ca urin. 5.5 (2.5-7.5)
TSH 1.38 2.12 (0.02-4.2)
PTH and 25OHVitD were normal. QC results for total Ca
were normal (4 days two levels). CK,ALAT,ASAT,LD, Amylase
and Lipase were normal, as were Na/K.
Any suggestion appreciated (apart from repeating Ca2+ and
measuring 1,25diOHVitD.
Thanks,
