As the person responsible for transport matters for Focus 99 at G-MEX, I
would just like to use the bulletin board to publicize a problem with the
air fare offer announced in the February issue of the ACB News.
Unfortunately, British Midland changed their reservations computer in
mid-February and the new computer does not recognize the code that was
given for people to quote (originally this was CIC*110/176) - the new code
to use is G/15/1/225.
Just to repeat, the fare offers were for return journeys between 15-22 May
1999, are subject to availability and are only bookable in March and April.
They are as follows:
Paris-Heathrow £70 + £17.60 tax
Amsterdam-Heathrow £70 + £19.80 tax
Brussels-Heathrow £80 + £19.40 tax
Frankfurt-Heathrow £90 + £22.50 tax
For flights onward from Heathrow to Manchester the add on return fare is
£70
Heathrow-Manchester £80 + £10 tax
Edinburgh-Manchester £90 +£10 tax
Glasgow-Manchester £90 + £10 tax
Aberdeen-Manchester £90 + £10 tax
Dusseldorf-Manchester £100 + £19.70 tax
Contact telephone numbers for British Midland are:
UK - 0345 554554
Brussels - 772 9400
Paris - 4862 5565
Amsterdam - 662221
Frankfurt - 6950 4100
Whether you come by plane or not I hope everyone has a smooth trip to
Manchester. Please check out the Travel section of the Focus part of the
ACB website for more travel information. In a week or so we hope to have
published on the web a street map of the city linked to photographs so that
people will be able to 'see' where they need to go before they get here.
