4708 28 20_Abbott progesterone.13_Bill [log in to unmask], 4 Feb 1999 18:26:00 -0000474_- Does anyone have any insight into the Abbott progesterone problem? We have been told it was a conjugate problem and that it could have been of quite long standing.

Dear List members
My understanding after contact with Abbott today is that the AxSYM conjugate reagent for progesterone (only) is suspected to be at fault for kit lots manufactured and shipped to customers since the summer of last year. Abbott have issued a letter to customers with details of the lot numbers and general guidance on what action to take (destruction of existing stocks and review of patients' data that appear inconsistent with clinical findings). We will continue with the present breakdown of comments into components, which will be scored 'blind' by independent assessors - the advantages of this seem to outweigh the disadvantages. However we will make two modifications to the previous system of adding together component scores to give a total comment score for each registered participant. 1. 'Telephone and discuss' has always achieved a positive score (mean 1.2; range 0.8 - 2.0). From [...]46_8Feb199910:15:[log in to unmask]
