As to support groups your colleague could try contacting the secretary of
any paediatrician or pathologist who investigates such cases. Whilst I have
no doubt that there are genuine and caring support groups, at least some do
seem to function to support the perpetrators of this very difficult and
complex form of child abuse in their denial, with the projection of their
anger onto those whose duty is to care for children thus injured and by the
identification of otherwise occult homicide to prevent further episodes.
