Hi,
First of all my message to the list was not specifically aimed at
the current debate on "Statistics and Justice" but was intended to
remind members that we do have a code of conduct on Allstat which is
becoming increasingly ignored. This code covers the content of
messages, formats in which they are sent and so on and is designed
to ensure the smooth running of the list.
As far as the current hot topic of debate goes, Allstat is a broadcast
list and is not intended to carry discussion. We make this distinction
because a number of lists intended for the discussion of statistics
related topics already exist, most notably stats-discuss in the UK and
stat-l in the US.
For anybody interested in joining a discussion list, links to sites
relating to these lists can be found on the Allstat homepage
http://www.stats.gla.ac.uk/allstat
I'd be grateful if you'd direct further comment to me, I will summarise
as appropriate.
Cheers,
Matt
