REFRESHER COURSE IN STATISTICS
FOR PSYCHOLOGISTS, BEHAVIOURAL & SOCIAL SCIENTISTS
An intermediate level course for those with a basic knowledge of
statistics. Particularly suited to final year undergraduates and
postgraduates who wish to improve their competence and confidence in
analysing data for surveys and experiments. In computer sessions you will
be running analyses on SPSS Windows, whilst the Workshops will cover
concepts and interpretation. Examples will be taken from current research
projects. You will be encouraged to bring your own data for discussion or
analysis. The course covers:
ANOVA Simple Regression Multiple Regression
Sample Size Loglinear Models Factor Analysis
Taught by David Boniface (author of statistics text book for psychologists
and social scientists); Michaela Cottee (statistician and graduate
psychologist); Peter Watson (statistician at the MRC Cognition & Brain
Sciences Unit, University of Cambridge), and Jessica Bennett (psychologist
specialising in Research Methods).
Venue: University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield
