Dear listmembers
We are pleased to announce that we have 12 doctorate projects and 1
post-doctorate research project in the field of fluid-rock interaction.
For information about the projects, take a look at the following
web-site:

Please direct any enquires the supervisors of each project listed.
A summary of our fluid-rock programme is given below.
best wishes

Graduate college 273 of the German Research Fund: "Fluid-rock
interaction"
Available positions: 12 doctoral stipends for 3 years and one
postdoctoral stipend of 2 years
This interdisciplinary research programme has been established in order
to investigate the active role of fluids in earth processes. A central
part of the research interest concentrates on the transport of material
in the fluid phase, and reactions which occur at the mineral-fluid
interface. The projects are supervised by a large community of lecturers
and researchers which span the disciplines of geography, environmental
geochemistry, envronmental physics, geology and petrology.
Research projects will be carried out in two different regions (Rhine
graben, Germany, and Cantabria, Spain) and are grouped into the
following three principle thematic areas:
A: Water-sediment-interaction at the surface (6 stipends, 1 postdoctoral
stipend)
B: Fluid-migration, evolution and solution-precipitation processes in
diagenetic and low temperature metamorphic rocks of the upper crust (5
stipends)
C: The role of volatile components during rock deformation and
metamorphism in the lower crust and mantle (1 stipend)
The following will be expected of the successful applicants:
- active involvement in the research group and the desire for
interdisciplinary work in the geosciences
- active participation in courses, workshops and colloquium of the
fluid-rock interaction programme
- completion of the doctoral promotion within the 3 years of the
stipendium. The postdoctoral position is also expected to complete
agreed project commitments.
- presentation and publication of results is expected at conferences and
in the relevant journals
Please direct your project enquires directly to the listed supervisor as
given in the project descriptions available on the internet:
