Apologies for the incomplete note. It would appear that I hit the wrong
button (send vs. save draft) in the previous note without finishing it.
I had intended to add that what I can recall of the current
Cistercian guidelines is rather vague. They say that each community
should observe the hours in a manner that is consistent with Cistercian
tradition and monastic life and induces the full participation of the
brothers, or words to that effect. Obviously, the _Thesaurus_ is known
and available, but there appears to be wide latitude for each house to
adapt the framework of the hours to its situation. (A marked difference
from the model of 50 years ago!)
