>But where does leave us if the fonts have no drains?
>
We have in our church a large basin, holding perhaps three gallons (about
twelve litres) of water. It has no plughole. It was filled with water,
which was blessed at the Easter ceremonies this year. Every week some of the
faithful bring bottles to replenish their stock of holy water from this
basin. It is now almost empty. There would be no problem whatever of
disposing of holy water, any more than there would be any problem in
disposing of a pile of unwanted banknotes. Rather, the difficulty maight
consist of rationing it fairly, or of preventing its being taken for
nefarious purposes (e.g. witchcraft). For this reason, some fonts have
lockable covers.
