I wonder if anyone on the list knows whether there is a Latin ms of the
Canons of Hippolytus. My efforts to determine this have been waylaid a
number of times because the Canons are sometimes confused with the
_Apostolic Tradition_ of Hippolytus and sometimes with the _Egyptian
Church Orders_. Also the authorship and dating of the Canons were widely
disputed earlier in the century and with all the writing to debate these
questions the issue of a Latin ms, when it is discussed, has me confused.
I've looked at works on Hippolytus or the _Apostolic Tradition_ by Dix,
Easton, Erik Tidner, Riedel, Quasten, and Connolly. I'm interested
in knowing if there is a Latin ms and, of course, if it has been edited
I'd love a reference. Thanks in advance for any ideas anyone may have.
