LIFELONG LEARNING:
a workshop on how public libraries are implementing lifelong learning
facilities, using ICT.

The purpose of this workshop is to provide the opportunity for librarians
who have provided Lifelong Learning facilities to share experiences with
those who want to do so. It will allow delegates to discuss matters of
interest, explore good practice and find innovative solutions.
Speakers include:
Viv Griffiths (Lifelong Learning and Libraries, Birmingham)
Alan Boughey (Information Librarian, Bury Libraries)
Prof. Andrew Macdonald (Sunderland University)
Howard Hills (Head of Training Development, Lloyds Bank)
The workshop ties in with the research for the READINESS project being
undertaken by the EARL Consortium. Issues included in this BLRIC funded
project include: collaboration, content, technology, implementation,
training, feedback, funding and sustainability,
filtering/copyright/charging.
The workshop takes place between 10am and 4pm on 28th January 1999 and
attendance is free.
