The size of a block varies from one location to the next. Also the
dimensions of a block are rarely equal ie a square. One dimension may be
anywhere from 200 feet to 500 feet and the other anywhere from 400 feet
to 1000 feet or even more. If you use the "block" as a measurement in a
questionaire you will be laughed at by the research community unless you
define the dimensions. Ie you may find that in one location all blocks
are exactly the same dimension. However how do you overcome the fact
that the two dimensions of a "block" of homes is rarely the same.
