Dear All
many thanks to those who supplied references on 'water'. My PhD-ing
friend was very grateful, and says that he didn't realise just how
unlearned he was...
Following on from the microfiche/microfilm query: another colleague, a
scholar of colonial America, has recently purchased three CD-ROM
collections of sources. These are scanned images of nineteenth century
editions of seventeenth century records. They are very clear, very useful
- and extremely cheap (he has got what would amount to 25 large volumes
of printed material for slightly over 100 dollars).
So: obvious question - is there any similar medieval stuff out there? I
know that some publishing companies have been reprinting old editions (eg
Mansi's Sacrorum conciliorum). Wouldn't it be cool to have that on
CD-ROM? Or works edited by Celestine Douais? [just fill in your favourite
desired source here].
cheers
john arnold
p.s. I know that the PL comes on CD-ROM, but I'm more interested in
non-extortionate prices
