Hi,
I have just joined your newsgroup and I wonder if anyone can help
me? I am a student at NEWI in North Wales and I am studying
Business Informations Systems Management. I am in my final
year and for my project I am looking at the use of information
technology as a user resource in public libraries. The issues I am
concerned with are:
Has these new services required librarians to adopt new
management styles and different roles, and created additional
problems?
How are these resources evaluated and monitored, and how do
they different from the management of traditional resources?
Are all library users benefiting from these new services, what about
widening the gap between information rich vs information poor? And
concerns of quality of information, privacy and censorship on the
Internet.
Could you point me to any useful literature, or resources which
would be related to this area.
Many thanks
Julie Price

P.S.I am not a library student so the area is new to me, so if some
of the questions seem obvious, please accept my apologies.
