Distance Learning Course : Introduction to Evidence Based
Practice for health and social care professionals.
List members may be interested to hear of this new distance
learning course on evidence-based practice which is being
run by St Loye's School of Occupational Therapy (affiliated
to University of Exeter)
This new module is aimed at postgraduate students in
Nursing and the Professions Allied to Medicine (PAMs). Most
of the course will be delivered electronically so students
will need access to the Internet and e-mail.
Module content includes:
1.Introduction to evidence based practice
2.Resources for evidence based practice
3.Searching for the evidences
4.Appraising the evidence
5.Applying the evidence to practice
The module is studied over 10 weeks part-time and comprises
approximately 36 hours study time.
Start date : April/May 1999 (subject to University
accreditation)
Credit value : 20 credits at level 6.
