The aim of these half-day courses is to introduce users to the
facilities now offered by the Centre for Applied Social Survey
Question Bank. The CASS Question Bank is an electronic resource which
is disseminated to users via the Internet and the World Wide Web. The
course is aimed at social survey researchers, users of survey data,
and teachers and students of survey research methods. The course will
enable users to get the best out of the facilities the Question Bank
now offers.
The course contents will include demonstrations of the Question Bank,
its facilities and contents. Advice and hands-on practice will be
given in navigating and searching the Question Bank using the search
engine MUSCAT.
The Presenters:
Roger Thomas is the Director of CASS. He is also a senior member of
the Survey Methods Centre at the Social Community Planning Research
(SCPR). Martin Bulmer is the Academic Director of the CASS Question
Bank. He is also Foundation Fund Professor of Sociology at the
University of Surrey and Associate Director of its Institute of Social
Research. Adam Guy is the Manager of the CASS Question Bank and
Teresa McGarry is a researcher at the SCPR.
These courses are being run to support the use of the CASS Question
Bank and are therefore offered free of charge. However, numbers are
restricted therefore, early registration is advisable. To register,
